Housing Information
EPI will help you find housing.

EPI housing. If you want EPI to put you in an
on-campus apartment, we have housing available for EPI students who are
single or who are married but arrive without their spouses or
families. In the event that on-campus, single student housing is full,
we will help place students in nearby private apartments.
Off-campus housing. If you decide to bring your
spouse and/or family with you, or if you just want to live off campus,
we will help you with information on how to locate a suitable place to
live outside the University campus (costs vary). [Students wishing to
live off campus can also visit

apartment as well as other links about living in Columbia. Registration
required.]
Other. If you already have housing in Columbia,
please let us know.
For housing, please check the appropriate spot on the EPI application
for intensive English.
EPI students usually stay in USC's Cliff Apartments. For more
information on Cliff Apartments click here.
Cliff Apartments have one bedroom and one bathroom, providing space for
two students, OR two bedrooms and one bathroom, providing space for four
students (two beds in each bedroom). Kitchen facilities include a stove
and a refrigerator. These apartments are furnished and all fees for
electricity, water, one telephone with local phone service, an internet
connection, and cable TV service are included in the Cliff Apartments
fee. You will need to bring with you (or purchase when you arrive) bed
linens, towels, a study lamp, cleaning supplies, and utensils for
cooking and eating. Linens are available upon arrival for $35 and
include a pillow, a pillow case, a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, a
blanket, a towel, and a washcloth.
If Cliff Apartments are not available, similar housing will be
arranged but some of the services may be different.
Please note: EPI tries to make arrangements for students from
different countries to live together; however, we cannot guarantee that
your roommate will not speak the same language as you.
Housing fees vary according to the size and location of the apartment.
EPI housing fees are as follows:
| All terms (9 weeks) - 1 bedroom |
$1190 per student |
| All terms (9 weeks) - 2 bedroom |
$835 per student |
(All fees are subject to change without notice.)
One- or two-bedroom preferences can be selected, but there is no guarantee that your preference will be available.
The full on-campus housing fee for the term is due at EPI
registration. Once you have moved into the housing space, you must pay
the housing fee for the entire term.
Food. There are different ways to get your meals. You may prepare your meals
in your apartment, which is relatively inexpensive but time-consuming.
You may eat in university cafeterias, which is more expensive. You may
eat in a restaurant, which is the most expensive. In addition to the
above estimated cost, you may need money to buy personal items and to
pay for entertainment. |
